Ten Songs You Need To Hear Now

Records Stores, Blogs, Streams, Twitter, whichever way you get your music; here are ten of the best songs out there right now that everyone should be able to agree on. Let the fantastic-ness begin.

1. Broken Bells – “The Ghost Inside” – Indie hipster supergroup of James Mercer (The Shins) and Brian Burton (Danger Mouse). This track should be a breakthrough genre crossing smash.

2. MGMT – “Flash Delirium” – New track from the album Congratulations. Just a taste of what’s to come on this indie rock juggernaut. Imagine Syd Barret Pink Floyd crossed with Bowie and The Byrds. This could be a real game changer.

3. The Temper Trap – “Fader” – My pick for the sleeper break-out band of 2010. Could easily take the route of Phoenix.

4. Civil Twilight – “Letters From The Sky” – Trio from South Africa reminds me of Starsailor crossed with Radiohead post The Bends. Very cool track.

5.The Chemists – “Milk and Honey” -Fantastic. Someone please release this in the US.

6. Dirty Projectors -“Stillness is the Move” – Alright, so it came out a while ago. I still fear there are a ton of fans to be made here.

7. Sounds Under Radio – “Sing” – From the upcoming My Communist Heart EP this is a stunning song falling somewhere between when Radiohead used to write pop songs (The Bends) and a current dosing of Muse. Stream it here.

8. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – “Conscience Killer” – Like a modern day T-Rex these guys never disappoint.

9. The Heavy -“How You Like Me Now” – You know the commercial, now dig deeper and discover the band and their fantastic records.

10.Mumford and Sons – “The Cave” – If the Avett Brothers were from the UK…..
