Living Things overcome the sophmore slump with what should be a modern alt-rock classic…that is if anyone hears it.

Living Things – Habeas Corpus (Zomba) – Eclectic front man Lillian Berlin along with his two siblings and childhood friend deliver what could easily be one of the most entertaining albums of the year. A rare gem of a rock record that blasts out of the gates sounding like Social Distortion in a volume war with T.Rex and then comes into it’s own with a musical plethora of synth beats, giant wall o’ sound guitars, thought provoking lyrics, and pure seventies glam rock sleaziness all very tightly wound together. Standout tracks such as “Mercedes Marxist” and “Oxygen”, with their slick cutting edge production, are instantly likeable and my picks for the ultimate summertime “drive with the windows down” soundtrack.
